Hobgoblin
Theatre of the Absurd
The 16 year old me started my first band
with two friends Kevin O'Sullivan and Tim
Clarke. I played drums..on the edge of a bed. Then it was buckets, and eventually a real drum kit! We rehearsed every evening in a garage.Chris Dunn joined on vocals and Oasis became Oasis II.
A Progressive Rock band, in a different world, in South London.
The band evolved into Hobgoblin when I teamed up with Steve Shoebridge, and Tim Clarke came back in, this time on bass.
We were joined by John Potter (keyboards), and Kevin Young (drums) and later Mark Phasey (12 string).
I wrote and wrote and wrote..and that was just one song! This was progressive rock, very inspired by early Genesis, Peter Gabriel, Steve Hackett, Jethro tull, Supertramp, Gryphon, Crimson..,.

I sing some spectacularly out
of tune stuff on 'Wharton Lodge'.
What can I say? I was young,
I was idealistic, I was off-key.
This version of'Wharton Lodge' was remastered in 2015 by Tim Clarke.
